
Meet Master Diver and former president of the U.S. Army Divers Association, Chief Warrant Officer
3 Julius Green. He was the second African-American deepsea diver in the U.S. military and the
first in the United States Army. His story is one of a young man determined to make something
of himself and grateful for the chance the army offered him for advancement in post World War
II America. Those who know him best will tell you his is a story of dedication to the advancement
of others, black, white, male and female. Many army divers owe their careers tothe foresight
and support they received from this incredible individual.
